here is the jacket that i have "modified". it was originally a woman's jean jacket that i made re-masculine by switching the buttons to male, but then re-feminized by stitching the felt portrait of Pagoda on the back. Oh yeah also you can see my new (a month ago) hair cut.

A Yes Man

Igor Vamos (or Mike Bonanno) of The Yes Men came and spoke at Pitzer College today. He showed some of the footage from the in-progress new movie. You should check out some of their new craziness on the web at www.theyesmen.org

here is a sneak preview: Andy is wearing the "Halliburton SurvivaBall TM" which is intended to save the important people during a disaster (natural or terrorism) by being like a giant inflatable amoeba suit. Mike is the one wearing the suit.

Ford Celebration

my contribution to the first year show that just came down yesterday. our show was titled 'the fourth leg' with an image of a chair with one leg missing. what does that mean? i thought maybe the third leg would at least be sophomorically funny, but hey i don't run the show.

in progress

By popular demand i am going to show some vulnerable in progress shots. some are far from done and others are further from done, but at least they are what they are.

this is the quilt that i have been working on for roughly a month. it is made of fabric, mom's old sheet sewn with a machine. the image is felt and vinyl hot glued. it is roughly 9 feet by 13 feet.

this little piece is my first attempt at reclaiming the rainbow. it seems to be an un-risky approach to a risky subject, but i swear i will get 'real' bold. it is completely unfinished (probably will have a figure, but maybe not. it is an attempt to mix the fabric with painting, though unsuccessful i like the stupidity of the weak painting and an overly bold rainbow. it is 21x28 inches and is acrylic and felt on panel. as a side note i was making this before i knew radiohead's new album was titled in rainbows, by the way if you have not downloaded it, i would suggest it, you can even be a stingy bastard like me and buy it from radiohead.com for free, hey don't have the cash.

this is the early stages of a painting (acrylic on panel 48 x 71 inches) that my original plan was to incorporate a fabric and felt element, needless to say i think it was failing, so now i have a felt portrait of mi gato pagoda, no worries she may end up truck ornamentation or a banner promoting some compelling cause.

damn i miss my sweet pagoda, if she was around the image might have came out better.
